Alexandra Crum is a fantastic realtor. She helped us buy a house in San Diego in early 2026, while we were living on the other side of the country. She was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of great advice and referrals, and she really went above and beyond. To rewind about 6 months, we had actually come to San Diego in summer 2025 to look at houses. At that time we hired a different realtor, and we happened to meet Alex when she was representing the seller of a house we were interested in (it turned out not to have enough space for our piano), and she was there to show us the house and answer our questions. We could already tell she was going above and beyond for that seller, just by being there to talk to us at a private showing. And already even after it was clear we weren’t interested in the house, she was giving us advice on our own search too, whereas the realtor we were with at the time was more hands-off and neutral, preferring to let us make our own decisions with minimal guidance. We didn’t find anything we liked that summer, but when we decided to start looking again in early 2026, we decided we wanted Alex to represent us instead of our original realtor. And Alex was amazing. She did so much leg-work for us, while we were all the way on the other side of the country on the east coast. She listened to our constraints and showed us only houses she thought we would like. (In contrast, our realtor in summer 2025 just spammed many houses at us, anything that met the automated search criteria he started with. It was too much.) When we finally found a house we liked, she went to tour it for us, first at a private showing (she was able to book the first one), and then again at the open house, just to gauge the demand by seeing how crowded it was. Because of her hustle, we were able to place a strong first bid very early and enter into negotiations before anyone else had a chance to bid. That was really helpful in enabling us to lock the house down early. Side story: back in summer 2025 we had actually toured the adjacent house to the one we ended up buying with Alex in early 2026. It turns out that Alex had toured that neighboring house in summer 2025 too, because it was a comparable to the house she was selling at the time, the one where we met her. Who does that?? Meaning: what agent would go to such lengths to be a strong advocate for her seller that she tours comparable houses just to get a better sense of the current market and understand the relative strengths and weaknesses of her client’s house that she is trying to sell? Alexandra Crum, that’s who. Anyway, after Alex’s hustle helped us lock down our house in escrow, we ended up getting a ton of inspections, way more than what one might expect. Besides the general inspection and termites, we also insisted on two plumbing inspections (for water damage), roofing, and HVAC. Guess who showed up to all those extra inspections to let them all in to the house. Alex Crum. She also did the final walkthrough for us and came out again to give us the keys after we closed. And when she gave us the keys, she also showed up with gifts for our son! And even then, when you might think her job is done, she agreed to help us let contractors in and out of the house for renovations, after the closing. How amazing is that?? Anyway, we love Alex Crum and recommend her most highly. If you’re buying or selling your house in San Diego she will absolutely *hustle* as your advocate and advisor.
